Biografia

Arion is a Greek contemporary painter born in Thessaloniki in 1988 and currently based in Athens. His work combines classical realism with a symbolic and metaphysical visual language, exploring the relationship between the visible world and unseen dimensions of existence.

He began his artistic training at the age of sixteen, studying drawing and painting under Charis Mitrousis. His early development was strongly influenced by the Renaissance masters and the tradition of figurative painting. In 2008, his meeting with the painter Kostas Lousas became an important turning point in his artistic development.

In 2011, Arion established his own gallery and atelier in central Thessaloniki, where he also taught painting. Over the following years, he developed a distinctive personal vocabulary in which the human figure, celestial bodies, nature, fragmented skies and symbolic elements coexist within carefully constructed compositions.

Working primarily in oil painting, Arion describes his artistic language as a form of metaphysical realism. Drawing remains the structural foundation of his work, while colour functions not simply as description but as an archetypal and emotional force. His paintings investigate the boundaries between material reality and the invisible structures that shape human experience.

His work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Athens and Thessaloniki and has also been featured in the Greek press, radio and television.
