Biografia

My academic background is as a teacher. Subsequent non-academic training allowed me to work as a computer technician and engineer in different companies and for most of my life. My hobby, then as now, was photography.
Towards the end of this experience, work ethic disagreements and personal vicissitudes led me to consider a change of career that would allow me time to resolve them. I thought of painting.

Since the vicissitudes accumulated unexpectedly and consecutively, I did not achieve a permanent or exclusive dedication, which delayed my incorporation into the art world for several years and made the
objective risky.
Now I use the living room of my small house, which looks more like a messy warehouse as my studio. Since 2020, at the age of 56, I have exhibited in several countries, in international fairs and galleries, an
have won several awards.

Artist statement

I am a self-taught artist, which gives my work the spontaneity of innocence, but also the unconsciousness of ignorance.
I dedicate the ornamental part of my paintings to the potential buyers, but not the main idea, which is always intimate and personal.
My tastes do not coincide with those of the contemporary market, and my ability to generate new ideas is less capable of making them impacting.
Most of my work is concerned with -but not limited to- showing human abuses and de value of science as a source of knowledge and conflict resolution, by trying to be consistent and minimizing my opinions as
much as possible, using instead the conclusions of science, which can be trusted more than the cursory critical judgment allowed by the many limitations of one’s own experience, making visible by exposing the
contradictions, paradoxes and misunderstandings that could be avoided by a better understanding of it. This does not prevent me from dealing with current, emotional, strictly intuitive and humorous topics.
Where science ends, I use simple ethics: avoiding the suffering of others is the natural delimiter of coexistence. And the impossibility of achieving it, far from being an excuse, is the reason for perseverance.
